Qurban Invitation Wording for WhatsApp
Inviting guests and helpers to a majlis korban? Adapt one of these original WhatsApp messages for your family, surau or committee. Replace the details in square brackets with the date, the slaughter time, the venue and your invitation link.
A message for family and neighbours
Assalamualaikum and Salam Aidiladha, [name]. Our family is holding a majlis ibadah korban on [day, date], [Hijri date], at [venue]. The slaughter begins at [time], followed by a meal at [time]. Do come with the family. The map and RSVP are here: [invitation link]. Kindly reply by [deadline].
A message for the surau congregation
Assalamualaikum to all members of the [surau name] congregation. The majlis ibadah korban will be held on [date] at [location within the surau grounds], starting after the Aidiladha prayer. Everyone is welcome to join and help. The programme and directions are here: [invitation link].
A message calling for volunteers
Salam [name]. We need helpers for the korban on [date] from [time], for slaughtering, skinning, cutting and packing the meat. If you can help, please bring [items, such as knives, gloves or containers] and reply through the card: [invitation link]. Thank you for your support.
A message for participants about their portion
Assalamualaikum [name]. Thank you for taking part in the korban this year. Your portion will be ready for collection on [date] from [time] at [location]. The location and contacts are in the card: [invitation link]. Please contact [committee member] if someone else will collect it for you.
Check before you send
Write both the Gregorian and the Hijri date, and separate the slaughter time from the meal time. Test the map pin, especially if the slaughter area is behind the surau or on a farm. Avoid naming meat recipients in a message that may be forwarded widely.
